How Can I Help?
Cat Care Initiative is a volunteer based program. No one is payed for the hours of dedication they provide to the individuals or cats that are assisted by the program. Financing is provided by our own fundraising & contributions from people like you.
We are always looking for conscientious, dedicated volunteers for fundraising, fostering, transporting, and computer skills. We are often in need of carpentry skills to make outside "cat condos" for feral colonies as well. |

VOLUNTEER CARETAKER GUIDELINES
The management and care of a colony of cats consists of responsibility and long-term commitment. We are their voices and guardians.
The caretaker will do his or her best to ensure the survival of those entrusted to their care.
The caretaker is responsible for proper food, fresh clean water, proper shelter and health care. Although these cats live outside they still require food, water, and shelter to survive year round.
If any new arrivals come along after neutering is done, call CCI to have the cat neutered.
Cats will have their left ear cropped to identify altered cats.
They will also receive a rabies shot and dose of flea treatment as needed. (if neutered at low cost high volume clinic rabies and flea treatment are an extra cost)
If caretaker is going away for a period of time, he or she must make alternate arrangements for someone to come and continue the feeding of the cats.
If any cats get injured or become sick it is the responsibility of the caretaker to get the cat to the veterinarian to treat. (You will be responsible for payment of any treatment.) We will help catch if
needed.
The caretaker is asked to keep the living space of the cats free of debris, feces, or any objects that could injure the cats. The spraying of females in heat and males marking territory will stop once the cats are neutered.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions, we are here to answer them.
If you need help with food, shelter etc., please call, we have a unique idea to create a shelter for the cats.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION IS PRICELESS AND MUCH APPRECIATED
THANK YOU
ALWAYS REMEMBER ANIMALS DESERVE OUR RESPECT and
COMPASSION
